Shipboard Security

The main priority of the shipboard security program is the protection of the client’s ship, crew, and passengers regardless of the ship’s location worldwide. Secure Waters provides shipboard security specialists (armed and unarmed) for all types of vessels including; private yachts, cruise lines, and cargo lines. The security threats are identified and the security requirements are developed by the client along with the Secure Waters team focusing on potential threats, vulnerabilities, and the security budget. Once the requirements are developed, Secure Waters puts an experienced team together to deploy for short and long term missions to mitigate the threats.

Secure Waters can provide security personnel to supplement the client’s security staff (cruise lines) or provide the full security team for the protection of the crew and vessel through the transit of high risk areas. The Secure Waters professionals also work with each client to develop a shipboard security program based on crew abilities and underway requirements. The ship’s owner and/or captain and crew are involved in all aspects of planning and critical decision making.

Piracy is a major worldwide problem for vessels and owners. Piracy continues to spread from the East Coast of Africa to other parts of the world. Ships with good situational awareness and security contingency plans in place have a greater than 90% chance of countering pirate attacks.
